VANCOUVER, BC - April 20, 2026: Moment Energy, the global leader in battery repurposing, and Pulsenics, a Toronto-based developer of diagnostic equipment, today announced a joint project to develop advanced quality control for end-of-life EV batteries. NGen is supporting the $5M project. The partnership will scale second-life battery solutions to address the 5.6 GWh demand fueled by the rapid growth of AI data centers and quantum computing.

Moment Energy will develop industrial-scale workflows based on AccelaGrade, a new battery qualification solution. AccelaGrade, launched by Pulsenics earlier this year, is a scalable quality control solution for used batteries that cuts testing time by up to 90%. AccelaGrade integrates multiple testing methods into a single dataset that reports battery state-of-health (SoH) in less than 30 minutes.

“The ability to rapidly and accurately qualify used batteries is critical in scaling the second-life industry. This partnership allows us to vastly increase our manufacturing capacity by several GWh. This growth is supported by our world-class battery testing methodology, which remains the safest in the industry as the only one to hold full UL certifications for years,” said Edward Chiang, Co-Founder and CEO of Moment Energy. “Automakers and customers want to know they are working with a battery manufacturer that is unrelenting on safety and is always looking to keep the customer, community and their employees safe. We are proud these partners chose to work with us, as others in the market struggle to meet this bare minimum quality.”

Moment Energy, which recently announced a series of successful funding events for a cumulative of $60 million raised to date, is growing quickly to meet demand from BESS operators. Partnering with Pulsenics will help Moment Energy test batteries faster.

As the leader in safe, large-scale repurposing of EV batteries into BESS, Moment Energy is diverting EV batteries from the landfill, helping commercial, industrial, and utility organizations reduce their resource footprints while strengthening the grid.

“As the first wave of electric vehicles reaches end-of-life, we've got an enormous opportunity to keep those batteries in the field as long as possible,” said Mariam Awara, COO and co-Founder of Pulsenics. “Moment Energy leads the field of battery repurposing into stationary battery storage and is the only UL-certified repurposer in North America. We're proud to help the BESS industry save money, reduce waste, and deploy used batteries faster.”
